This site was opened on Nick's 21st birthday, the 28th of Januray in
2001, and then the site was called Endless Love. I named it after Nick's
words in one of my favourite songs, Show Me the Meaning of Being Lonely.
The name Endless Love was not very original though, and I found out it
I didn't like it after a while. So in July 2001, I re-named the page to
NicKaos. It stayed like that for only a little while, for it was then
I decided I wanted my own domain.
I decided to buy a domain in early September 2001, and after a short
while of searching I found Oh-Yeah Hosting. I liked the prices and the
service I got, so I decided to use them. I had already settled on the
name nickaos.net, so I signed up and got my domain registered. After that
it didn't take me long to move all my things to the new location, and
I got up up and running again about a week after that.
Around May 2002 I got tired of Oh Yeah Hosting though, cause they had
kept screwing things up and making problems, so I decided to move. I had
gotten some good advice about Active Web Hosting, and decided to move
there. The transfer did screw up, so I had to upload everything again,
but once I got all moved in, everything was fine.
Then, as the expiration date for nickaos.net came closer, I tried to
get in contact with Oh Yeah hosting. It turned out they sat on the information
needed for me to renew the domain. They never emailed me back, and so
I lost nickaos.net when it expired. Then someone else (one of those companies
who buys expired domains to sell and make a profit) got nickaos.net before
I did. Since there seemed like I would not be able to get the domain back,
I decided to buy nickaos.com instead. So I did, and here we are.
I moved over to Netrillium during the summer of 2003, after I got tired
of AWH, and also I got a much better prize at Netrillium!
I moved the site to Surpass in March 2005, and also made the switch to
PHP Nuke, which we are currently powered by!
In June/July 2005 this domain got hosted by Fan-Sites.Org. This was a
big thing for me, as I would now have to worry less about bandwidth and
such. I stayed there for about six months, and then I had to move on.
I had a wonderful time at Fan-Sites.Org, and would recommend it to anyone!
I moved the site to Faerydust
Hosting, where I have just moved in, and so far, everything is great!!
A wonderful new host! If you need a cheap and reliable host, this is the
way to go. And if you decide to use them, please say nickaos.com referred
you! ;)
